Vision

Your company is constantly exposed to elements that put it under pressure:

  • availability of very large amounts of data and tools for analysis
  • real-time interaction with customers
  • continuous changes in the competitive paradigm
  • more and more intrusive laws and rules (GDPR, PCI, ...)
  • increasing sensitivity of consumers for the use of their personal data

Blindata is the answer to these pressures: compliance and transparency, support to change management, maximization of the value of data, transparency and fairness to customers.

A Data Governance and Data Compliance tool to make data use efficient and compliant with laws.

Features

Multidisciplinary and Integrated

Personal data management requires a multidisciplinary approach, which can combine different perspectives. Blindata relies on 3 fundamental pillars, as defined by the Privacy laws: People (Data Subjects, Data Controllers and Data Processors, DPO, ...), Systems (Tables, fields, File Systems, documents, .. .) and Processes (Processings and Operational Tasks).

Different stakeholders can and must contribute to this vision: the legal department and legal advisors, the corporate functions that need access to data, the Data Processors and, of course, the IT department, which oversees the systems where the data is have been memorized, whether they reside “on Premise”, or whether they have been deployed “on Cloud”.

Blindata Metadata Registry

European Regulations and national laws impose a data management based on the concept of responsibility, sanctioning any non-compliance with very important economic fines (up to 20 MLN of € or 4% of global turnover).

Accountability means first and foremost knowing your data assets. This knowledge, necessary for the fulfillment of the law, is a precious resource for making tactical and strategic decisions quickly and effectively.

Definition of Business Glossary, mapping data structures with Data Discovery activities, representation of processes and processors: the Privacy Graph allows you to keep every process under control, with a clear vision of all entities and their relationships.

  • Where is the customer tax code used?
  • What informations does a supplier have access to?
  • What impacts will changing a field in a table have?

You can have a clear and immediate answer to these questions thanks to the Privacy Graph. The graph is able to clearly and automatically highlight any non-compliance in data access or in the definition of treatment activities. Blindata puts the knowledge of your data structures within reach.

Blindata Workflow Manager

The government of data and processes requires first of all a huge activity of collecting, checking and entering information.Blindata Workflow Manager allows you to design and plan these activities and then delegate them. You can lead all actors involved, manage approvals and verify the completeness of the collected information.

Blindata Audience Manager

Interactions with Data Subjects (Customers, users, employees) are often bound to obtain consent. Blindata Audience Manager highlights the target for a potential campaign, based on the consents needed for its execution and their trend over time. Once the user selects processings and the day of the campaign, Blindata provides the number and the list of Data Subjects that can be contacted.

Blindata Consent Registry & Consent Portal

The contact with the Data Subject leverages more and more different channels: email, website, telephone, app for mobile devices, social media. Coordinating all of them is complex, but essential.

Blindata fulfills this request by making available to its customers a centralized, multilingual and multiversion repository of Privacy Notice. Consent is one of the 6 legal bases for the processing of personal data provided for by the European Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Article 7 focuses on Consent and lays down that “the controller shall be able to demonstrate that the data subject has consented to processing of his or her personal data."

Any processing that requires the consent (but also the simple reading of the privacy notice) can then be submitted to the Data Subject using the last official version of the privacy notice, regardless the channel he’s using. The Data Subject choice can be than registered on the Blockchain, protecting Data Subject and Data Controller against any disputes.

Blindata Processing Registry

Blindata produces the Records of processing activities (RPA), according to the GDPR and National Data Protection Supervisors specifications.

Leveraging an approach based on the Accountabilty, RPA can be generated automatically and will be constantly updated. Optionally the RPA can be versioned, and each new version registered on the Blockchain.

Cloud & On-premise

To simplify the adoption of Blindata, the platform is available as SaaS, or can be installed “On premise”. Based on the most recent technologies, our architecture guarantees the state of the art in terms of reliability, performance and scalability.

API based

Blindata offers all features via REST API. It is therefore easy to integrate with applications already running in your company. In this way you can fully develop the potential of the platform and obtain a vision of governance on the data that is always up-to-date and consistent.

Multi-tenant

Complex and multinational companies need powerful solutions. Blindata has been created Multi-Tenant, able therefore to deploy implementations with several Data Controllers in the same environment, or assigning to each Data Controller an autonomous environment.

Blockchain

Blindata uses Stat-of-the-Art notarization protocols on Blockchain to certify your data. The solution is based on open but at the same time “private by design” algorithms.

Blindata is "modular-by-design"

You can combine features to cover the needs of each market and business function.

Multichannel Communication

Multi-channel companies must relate to their contacts in an efficient and consistent manner with each of the channels they want and can use. Thanks to the centralized repository of information and consent (Metadata registry and consent Notary), the company offers to Data Subject the same vision, whatever the touchpoint they connect to: the website, the ecommerce system, the physical store, the call center or the CRM.

The immediate and real-time control of the consent (given, denied,...) avoids unauthorized actions.
Versioning the Privacy Notice in Blindata Consent Portal, companies can prepare the new version in different languages and release them at the same time. Each touchpoint will instantly receive the new version. Each consent will refer to the official version at the time it was collected, without any risk of error when consent must be used for a marketing campaign, a newsletter or any other treatment.

If you decide to manage the periodic renewal of the consents, as recommended by WP29, Blindata will generate a list of contacts with expiring consents, automating the renewal campaigns.

Compliance Analysis

Sensitive, common, judicial data. Processings. Data Controllers and Data Processors. Employees and Departments in charge of data processing. Data Subject Categories. Physical data structures (tables, servers, files, folders, ...).
An huge effort to collect information that can be reduced!

Blindata Crowler discovers data structures and PII. Once the information is mapped, the Processing Registry gives you a picture, but what guarantees the consistency of all these elements?
In compliance with the principle of Accountability, the Privacy Graph highlights non-compliances: it is immediately clear if everything is ok, or if a Data Actor has access to data that, based on the principle of minimization, he should not see (art. 5 of the GDPR).

The mapping of data and processes, together with the management of consents, allows you to respond in a timely manner to any requests from the Data Subject to exercise his rights: access, right to be forgotten, portability.
Compliance Analysis

Multi-Tenancy

Complex businesses, with several companies and many Data Controllers, can benefit from Blindata multi-Tenancy design.

All you need is a Blindata account, thanks to which it will be possible to access the data of all the Tenants independently, using the same credentials and without having to re-authenticate, simply passing from one tenant to another.
Valuable functionality for DPOs that are in charge of the compliance of more than one customer.

Fast changing Landscapes

In a business environment subject to constant changes, speed in making decisions is essential and requires efficient and substantial data management.

Metadata required to manage data and processes are often already present in a structured way within the company. The API-based Blindata approach enables integrations with your existing infrastructure.
The information flow can be bidirectional and coordinated through a workflow engine. Constant updating of the Record of Processing Activities is only one of the advantages, the big benefit is the possibility to know at any moment what the company does and what data it uses and how.

Our team is made up of experts on privacy and technology.
